Painting & Paint Prep of SCS Steel

SCS sheet steel simplifies paint pretreatment. SCS can reduce, even eliminate, your need for certain cleaning, rinsing and conversion coating steps – key to cutting costs and cycle time. In salt spray tests, powder coated SCS samples pre-treated with only water rinse achieved 300 hr. exposure with no creep.

That's a huge help to fabricators who spend hours wiping down hot band so it's ready to paint, or who outsource painting HRPO parts because they don't have a multi-stage paint prep system. With SCS steel, they get a superior paint finish plus outstanding corrosion protection.

A manufacturer of electronics cabinets converted from P&O to SCS. The biggest reason was much leaner paint prep – cutting iron phosphate by two-thirds, yet wash solution lasts 5 times longer than with P&O. SCS gives a better paint finish as well.
